Printable version of this story DUMMERSTON, Vt. -- In Sicily, they say that fish start rotting from the head. In the past few months, as we've gotten closer and closer to the end of President George W. Bush's failed terms in office, we've been witnessing a mind-boggling amount of corruption, greed, evil, and downright stupidity. The smell has become almost overpowering. From the Wall Street CEOs who take public money but give themselves $1.6 billion in salaries, bonuses and benefits (including private jets), to Congressional Republicans who are making one last gasp effort to repeal the New Deal by breaking the auto unions, to Congress' breathtaking insensitivity in giving itself a pay raise at the start of what might be another Great Depression, the hits just keep coming. You don't know whether to laugh or cry. So welcome to the first annual "Evil or Stupid Quiz." And good luck. You're going to need it.
1. Pope Benedict XVI, who recently announced that saving humanity from homosexual or transsexual behavior is just as important as saving the rain forest from destruction.
That's it for this year. Send your own candidates for "Evil or Stupid" to me at: joycemarcel@yahoo.com. (At least until Yahoo goes out of business. Could be soon. Evil or stupid? You decide.)
